We had a fantastic, exhausting time in Charlotte this weekend during HeroesCon 2012!
It was great catching up with old friends like Ming Doyle, Janet Lee, Chrissie Zullo and Matt Kindt and getting to know new folks like Scott Snyder, Jeff Lemire, Matthew Southworth and Steve Niles! You really did your part by talking up Acme Comics and we were once again the name on a lot of important lips at the show!
For some of you, we checked must-have books off of your want lists and we’re returning with great self-published books from Becky Cloonan (Wolves & the Mire) and Jeremy Dale (Skyward) for you to peruse and purchase at your leisure this week!
Stay tuned to Acmecast over the next few weeks to hear Skype interviews that we set up with various creators and keep your eye on the Acme Events Calendar for upcoming signings and sales!
You don’t have to wait long to get to know some of the star power we’ve brought back with us from Charlotte, because this Saturday we’ll be visited by…

We’re very pleased to announce that writers Kelly Sue DeConnick and Matt Fraction will be joining us for an in-store signing on Saturday, June 30th from 1 - 4 PM!
This is an event years in the making, so let’s really roll out the red carpet and show them all of the love that Comic Book City, USA has to offer!
Kelly Sue DeConnick has written everything in the industry from horror to capes and tights over the last ten years. Most well known for her Marvel work on the post-Siege Osborn: Evil Incarnate mini-series and the first Richard Castle: Deadly Storm original graphic novel, Kelly Sue’s credits also include 30 Days of Night with Steve Niles from IDW, Supergirl from DC and Comic Book Tattoo from Image. She’ll be taking Carol Danvers in a whole new, exciting direction in July’s Captain Marvel #1, kicking off in Avenging Spider-man! It is not too soon to subscribe to Captain Marvel!
Matt Fraction has been steering two of the Avengers’ Big Three for the last four years and he was the brain behind last year’s company-spanning event Fear Itself. He’s also taken on street-level heroes in the Immortal Iron Fist, Punisher War Journal, and August’s Hawkeye #1 with artist David Aja. Matt’s garnered acclaim for his creator-owned series Casanova from Icon and the Five Fists of Science original graphic novel from Image.
Both Matt and Kelly Sue will be happy to sign your comics and answer your questions, but if you don’t have any material by either of them, we have plenty in stock for you to chose from! Bring your kids and tell your friends because this will be a signing that people talk about for a long time to come!
