For folks that read this blog and going to HeroesCon, I’m trying to set up a lunch get together tomorrow afternoon (Friday, 6.22)! Matt’s Chicago Dog is located right across the street from the convention center, on the Green! It’s got a great Chicago dog (obviously), and when Frank, Adam, John and I found it on Friday of last year’s show, it was about 90% less crowded than Fuel Pizza. So that everyone has time to explore the floor and get some stuff down before taking a break, let’s say 2 PM!
Welcome to the Acme Email Update, your one stop portal to comic book news and events here at Acme Comics! It’s a hot and sticky day here at the shop, but we’ve fought through it to bring you the biggest Acme E-Mail Update of 2012 thus far!
If you were at the High Point Museum of History for their Evaluation Extravaganza this past Saturday, you had the chance to stop by and see Jermaine as Lord Retail, still the authority on comics in the Triad. Not antique furniture or cutlasses, but comics.
While no one brought in an Action Comics #1 or Detective #27 during the Evaluation Extravaganza, he did get to see some neat Miracleman transparency overlay pages that almost made the trip worthwhile.
Welcome to the alternate reality where because of the holiday on Monday, new release day works the way it did before the day-early delivery ret-con!
Due to the delay, new books will still be out on Wednesday, BUT (and that’s a big “but”) because the ship won’t arrive at the store until that morning, books won’t be on the shelf around 1 PM!
We’re sure you guys will do fine. It wasn’t so long ago that this was the way things worked on a weekly basis. And there will be plenty to look forward to in that extra 3 hours because…
It’s a beautiful day here at Acme Comics! We’re stoked to be making our plans for HeroesCon next weekend and cutting together some special surprises for this week’s Acmecast #27!
Don’t forget that due to Memorial Day on Monday we’ll be CLOSED all day, but because of the now-in-place day-early delivery schedule, new books should still be ready by lunchtime on Wednesday!
